Hornby Conflat wagon and container10 Jul 2008 11:14 GMT1
Can anyone tell me if the container is glued onto the Hornby conflat
wagon (e.g. R6346)? If it is glued on, is it easy to remove without
damaging the wagon? I would like to be able to run the wagon with and
without the container.

I know that most people here have a good handle on what they're doing,
but I've always found it useful to read another person's take on a
subject, especially if I thought I knew all about it. Amazing how much
we know for a fact that just ain't so. ;-)
Peco & Tortoise09 Jul 2008 17:18 GMT6
When installing a Peco turnout and a Tortoise switch machine, do you reduce
the tension on the Peco spring or remove it all together.  How do you reduce
spring tension... squeeze it together?

Modelspoor/Utrecht Railway Museum07 Jul 2008 21:52 GMT9
I'm considering a visit to Utrecht for Modelspoor in late October.   Has
anyone else been?   Is it as good as it looks?   It looks bigger than Warley
and seems to include a very large trading area.   Correct?   The idea would
be go Thursday from the UK attend Friday and probably ...

With the current downturn in the economy and slowdown in deliveries from
China, does the team think both companies will continue with the standard

Five Dollar Model Link?06 Jul 2008 03:57 GMT8
Several years ago, one of the regulars here listed a web site where he was
collecting submissions for "Five Dollar Models."  It was a take-off of the
old MODEL RAILROADER "Dollar Model" series that was updated for inflation.
I had sent him a brief description of how I built a ...

Valuation for insurance purposes04 Jul 2008 04:51 GMT1
I am looking into insurance.  In order to determine how much my State
Farm homeowners covers and whether I should buy additional insurance
from the NMRA program, I need to value what I want insured.  Checking
on the NMRA insurance, I found the following:
009 loco for a first time to 00903 Jul 2008 21:22 GMT12
I want to get hold of a 009 loco for a small railway I am building.
I have built white metal and etched brass locos, (04 and 05 shunters), and
want something not too expensive but reasonably accurate and not too
difficult to build.

The Doom & Glooms! (or just another day)02 Jul 2008 15:38 GMT17
Having begun to feel really smart a.s at having solved my ToT
problems and basking in the glow of some of the over bright LEDs ( now
fitted with resistors despite only having a 3.3v supply) I made the
decision to expand to cover the entire system.

At our meeting on Wednesday 25 June our Chairman, Nick Whitmarsh-Everiss
appears to have given way to his frustration at not being able to get
his message across to the members! Here is a picture of him expressing
that frustration
