What is the optimal maximum DC voltage to use on an HO locomotive? I've

Ok, so like many of us, I have a lot of old and cheaper rolling stock
that has talgo couplers on the trucks.  Is there a Kadee coupler I can
use to convert those to Kadee's?  What number Kadee would I use?

Watched "Von Ryan's Express" last night on TV, and was surprised when it

being pushed together, and when the buffers met, the guy ducked under
