As a child I used to have one of those Triang ( ? ) metal signal boxes
with the flat roof.  Never really thought about what it was based on
but in this months British Railway Modelling is a six page article on
the 'Odeon' or 'Glasshouse' signal boxes of the 1930's  Southern

What kind of decoder do you need to control the smoke function? Ho scale steam loco.
All the decoders that I have looked at mention nothing about this. Just lights
and motor.

I have just been to the garden centre and scrounged a bag full of
broken oddments from round the rockery stone displays (a cheap way
of getting bits of OO gauge rock outcroppings).  While I was there i

Fired Weds morning.

I currently have a fairly extensive pre-DCC and not 'digtial ready' HO train
setup.  What would be a simple low cost upgrade I could do to replace my
current engines with digitial controled engines.   My main interest is being
able to run at slow speed and I'm not concerned about ...

That is one heavy model!  We will run it up later and see just how
mighty it is.

The economic downturn seems to have hit this group too!       It is
certainly true in my own case as my UK income has plunged by over 30%
in a year and 16% since early Dec.  This does have quite a dramatic
effect on window shopping and my ebay activity has shriveled also.

I've recently purchased the new Hornby 2009 catalogue, should it include a
current price list? I cann't find anywhere on Hornby's website where a
price list can be downloaded.
Looking through the catalogue I had a chuckle when I came to p.46 to find
