Bending Rolls?30 Jan 2010 21:35 GMT1
Do you tend to use bending rolls to set flexible track (after sliding it
out from the sleepers!) to your required diameter, to counteract
any tendency not to follow you desired curve, or to cause binding
on the curves?
"T" Gauge reliability?29 Jan 2010 17:06 GMT1
Just seen my first "T" gauge layout at the Calne show.
Very impressive.
But, based on miniature motors that might otherwise only
run for a few seconds per hour (eg vibrator in a mobile phone)

Thomas going Downhill?26 Jan 2010 23:28 GMT24
I've noticed lately more and more Thomas model railway stuff being
discounted.  Is the Thomas boom over I wonder?  Those folks at HIT
Entertainment seem to have done a good job of upsetting a lot of people.
Question about GWR train formations26 Jan 2010 16:54 GMT49
I have just acquired a brake-3rd, all 3rd, and 3rd-1st. How would these
three coaches be marshalled in a branchline or mainline stopping train?
(The loco is an 0-6-0PT).
Thanks,

Jerry is now on my banned senders list25 Jan 2010 21:24 GMT304

on people who disagree with what he has posted, I have now added him to
my banned senders list.

Whole new vistas of worry22 Jan 2010 17:28 GMT41
Well the lad has been on the internet and now 'knows about model railways'
So, in a room ten foot square, in OO, we have the mountain section, the
station(s), industrial sidings etc.
It's all going to be DCC and he seems to think DCC can be programmed like a
The almost done railroad20 Jan 2010 00:19 GMT1
Maybe a humorous cautionary tale of over-ambition in model
railroading.  Seems SWMBO got fed up with me missing church on Sunday
a few times to spend the whole day soldering feeder wires.  I figure I
was about 4 weeks away from completing the conversion to DCC on my
GRP scenery19 Jan 2010 02:32 GMT7
Has anyone tried using GRP as a scenery base? I want a large hill that
can be removed for track cleaning and maintenance (behind the
backscene), I was thinking of using GRP on an exmet armature.

Lionel 646 engine repair question19 Jan 2010 00:35 GMT7
I have a 646 Hudson steam engine that I've been running with my set
since 1953. The set comes out now just briefly for the holidays,
(space is limited).
This year while cleaning and lubricating my equipment I noticed that
