| Care v. Enthusiasm | 04 Mar 2010 22:44 GMT | 4 |
Having been forced to take a 10 day break in the sun of Almeria and leave the latest consignment of DCC chips on the bench today was the day to fit some of them. Having one of those class 47s which ignore stuff like speed steps and

| Bachmann V Hornby Wagon Wheels | 04 Mar 2010 12:28 GMT | 1 |
Can anyone tell me if there is any difference in the coarseness of the Bachmann or Hornby wagon wheels? I have new Hornby ones and I think they are a bit too finescale for some of my points. Despite checking the b2b's of the Hornby wheels, I often seem to find them derailing on ...

| Urban Model Reference | 04 Mar 2010 03:38 GMT | 7 |
Well, maybe not a reference, but a good view of a 1:1 city from the perspective we often see our model towns. http://vimeo.com/9679622 Many scenes in this short movie really look "model-like".

For an outdoor OO railway, how does one make the tunnel mouth look realistc, ie, not the toy-like appearance of off-the-shelf plastic or the bodged appearance of cast concrete? Can one obtain real stone cut into small rectangles to produce one's

| Science Museum | 02 Mar 2010 19:25 GMT | 65 |
Done the trip to London for half term outing and went back for another visit to science museum. Found Columbine this time. OK its not LNWR but it is Crewe built. Also saw Rocket. Wonderful to see the difference between fairly primitive Rocket and Columbine as a later 1800's loco.

| Peco OO curved point frog problem | 02 Mar 2010 12:42 GMT | 49 |
Our Hero has a problem with a Peco cur4ved point, which I believe is 2nd hand. Several items passing through on the inner curve tend to derail, not every time, but there is a distict jolt.
