Minimal train power30 Apr 2010 10:29 GMT28
I've recently bought a brand new City Industrial Hornby train set
which all works perfectly.
Today I received a 2nd hand 125 through the post from eBay. When I
first put it on the track nothing happened, so I though "great it's

Sunday Bike Ride (Profusly Illustrated!)28 Apr 2010 00:30 GMT20
Well, maybe not quite profusely.
Got on the bike this AM and set sail northwest towards Tehachapi Pass
in hopes of doing a little trainwatching.
Fist paused at the Hwy 138 junction in Cajon Pass to insert the
Hornby criticise Government's hike in NIC26 Apr 2010 00:30 GMT11
I notice that one of the companies critical of the Government's hike in
National Insurance contributions is Hornby plc - a company which abandoned
the UK for the vast majority of its production some years ago, and now
employs a relatively small number of UK

More on Couplings.22 Apr 2010 22:07 GMT5
I have been trying out Kadees and D&G couplings.
I find the Kadees a bit fiddly to set up and I would sooner not have
them on the loco as I don't want them coupling up when they are parked
in the shed.
The train that never stops22 Apr 2010 03:54 GMT18

advice on cutting tools20 Apr 2010 10:29 GMT12
I am contimplating doing some scratch modeling and kit bashing. I want to be
able to cut some plastic structures to fit my model plan. I want to know
what is the best and most accurate (eg cutting a straight line) for cutting
1/8 to 1/3 inch thick plastic.
P4 track for ex-NER Branch questions18 Apr 2010 18:31 GMT2
Dad's working on his new layout, which this time will be in P4. It's a
fictitious ex-NER country branch line station, and when it's
eventually finished it will boast a single track viaduct which will
probably be based on the one that was at Sandsend (or possibly

Double headed track train16 Apr 2010 08:22 GMT10
I have seen video footage of a heavy train of track panels, with two
Stanier 8Fs on the front, mainly on the S&C in the 1960s. I was
wondering if I could get away with running a train such as this when I
get a decent sized oval.
ZTC manuals - request for help13 Apr 2010 19:32 GMT5
{second post - obviously fumble-fingered the last one..}
I've recently bought some secondhand ZTC control kit (from OLivia's
Trains, who I'd recommend). Unfortunately, like a lot of secondhand
stuff, it came without manuals, which makes life harder.
