NAR contest cert Q.24 Aug 2003 01:50 GMT19
Why does the 'certified for contest use' classification have to apply

"...I am a Rocket Scientist" buttons. IIRC Ric Gaff got mine at Spencer
gifts a long time ago, but they no longer have any such thing. ...

I picked up a ton of red/blue LED flashers a couple of weeks ago and
decided to see how long one would flash before burning out.  The blue
LED stopped flashing after about 24 hours, but the red LED kept going
for six days.  I was amazed because the flasher is only powered by

[NEWS] Hobby Rockets on NBC Nightly News

It clearly showed a half dozen rockets from the rear and a single one
LED Problem22 Aug 2003 12:42 GMT5
Well, I have the main control box, and one pad box done for my relay
controller. I had to test it. I hooked up the 4 conductor phone wire between
the 2 boxes, and plugged 12v into each box (pad and main). The 12v was
provided by a marine starting battery. I hook the igniter leads ...

Things of Science: Gemini III model22 Aug 2003 03:00 GMT3
After emptying some of my father's old boxes I found a
model rocket kit in it's original packaging.  It is the
Gemini III Model (Unit No. 295) from "Things of Science"
and it is dated 1965.  It was distributed for free by
Is this ironic, or is it me?22 Aug 2003 02:23 GMT5
During the recent legislative wrangles, I attempted to contact my
Senators via their websites to comment on Enzi's bill.  I successfully
contacted Senator Boxer, and received the 'canned' response that meant
"don't call us, we'll call you".
