broken fin30 Sep 2003 23:38 GMT15
Well, I finally did it.  After 76 flights as a BAR, I broke a fin.  It's on
my Magnum, and is right above the fillets.  It is 3/16" plywood, and I had
put a layer of 5 oz glass over it also.  Can anyone give me any tips &
pointers as to how to repair a broken fin?  Unfortunately, I ...
Ring tailed whistling rocket at ROCI AMA CRIFF launch30 Sep 2003 22:47 GMT15
At the recent ROCI launch there was a red three finned rocket with a
ring around the base of the fins.  It whistled.  Does anyone know if
this is a kit, if there are plans, or who the owner might be?
Thanks!

Detachable fins30 Sep 2003 20:00 GMT2
I'm attempting to build a scale R-7 Vostok and I've been trying to think up a
way to possibly rig up fins that could be detached for static display and
re-attached for flight, but of course they would need to be strong enough to
not fall off and to assist in the stability.  Anyone ...

launch report - perfect day30 Sep 2003 18:42 GMT3
this is probably old hat to most of you but i just had the most magnificent
flights in my 1 year rocket career.  the thing that made it even more sweet
is because both rockets were previously fired about a year ago and both did
the corkscrew horizontal flight thing (luckily no ...
Cell Phones for Rockets?30 Sep 2003 15:43 GMT9
I have several cell phones lying around after switching to newer models and
a different carrier. I was wondering if the phones can be used for telemetry
or GPS functions. Has anyone done anything in this area?

The original X-wings...29 Sep 2003 21:51 GMT3
The discussion concerning multiple sets of fins on scale
and scale-like missile modrocs, and the problems their
alignment can cause for a rocket, brought to mind the
fact that on the full size version of most of these
Looking for an Altimeter29 Sep 2003 12:44 GMT6
While I am kinda willing to pay retail, does anyone have a gently used
altimeter that they would like to unload? I'm looking for something that
simply logs altitude and has no staging, deployment etc.
Thanx

Rocket fin design question.....29 Sep 2003 02:34 GMT6
In looking at a handful of rockets which use canard type fins one half
to two thirds the rocket's length forward of the rearward fins, and in
the same line, I've noticed some behave nastily.  Is there a formula for
the air disruption a canard induces?  Or a seperate design form ...
Need AT Motor clip29 Sep 2003 02:31 GMT3
I am starting to assemble an old NCR Interceptor G, and the one thing
in the design is no motor clip. Not wanting to depend on friction
fit/duct tape, I am looking for a motor clip, the kind that comes in
Aerotech rockets.
