Pay It Forward25 Sep 2003 18:11 GMT10
Just a quick reminder,  DART-SD just did a quick present at a local Cub
Scout pack meeting.  Cub Scouts, and the such are back in full swing now
with school being back in.  Not only is it a great way to promote rocketry
as something the whole family can do together and maybe pick up ...
Scaling up Question25 Sep 2003 15:33 GMT18
How does one "scale up" a rocket. Let's say there's a 6" one that you
really like and you want to scale it up to 12". Does everything get
doubled like fin dimensions, nosecone length, etc? Or is there a trade
secret about this that I don't know about?

you are getting allot of these in your mailbox, there is a good chance that
you have the virus.

On Saturday I loaded up the boys and half a dozen rockets into the van

Chinese still thieves regarding technology25 Sep 2003 01:53 GMT17
Gee, no wonder it's cheaper for the Chinese to do such things, they
just steal.
Quote from the Scientific American article.
The Chinese needed a suit with similar functions, so after obtaining
Is AT picking their favorite vendors?24 Sep 2003 21:47 GMT4
I've seen large vendors get larger motors like K700's on at least two
occasions this summer, when smaller vendors have had the same motors ordered
since last winter. The smaller vendors just keep getting the runaround and
empty promises. Has anyone else been seeing this?

2003 Nevada Rocket Trip Report
In early August I set off on my annual rocketry and camping trip through the

Plastisol in Composite Propellants23 Sep 2003 22:18 GMT1
Reading Richard Morrow's "Small Sounding Rockets", on page 380, I came across
polyvinylchloride-based Plastisol used as a fuel/binder in Atlantic Research
Corporation's composite "Arctite" propellant (the people people who brought us
ARCAS & ARCON, among others).

Does anyone know where I can get some of this?  I want to clone a couple
of the old FSI Viking kits and this is correct size for the tube fins
and motor mounts.

Does anyone know of anywhere in Canada to get Aerotech E single use motors

Oregon TRA or NAR Members23 Sep 2003 09:10 GMT4
Are there any Oregon (TRA#44, TRA#49, or NAR#555) rocketry folks
hanging out here? I'm just getting back into high-power rocketry and I
have a few questions about these groups I'd like to ask. Nothing
technical, just some basic questions about the groups, the facilities
