Arming Prefrences17 Sep 2003 21:02 GMT2
What do you guys do to arm your electronics. Do you use key switches? If you
do what type. Do you twist wires? Do you use another type of switch? Please
elaborate.
Bulkhead assembly / piston17 Sep 2003 20:14 GMT1
After having lost another shock cord, I thought of using a bulkhead
assembly, not glued into the tube, as a piston - attached to the motor mount
w/ mtl cable &/or nomex cord long enough to let it eject from the tube, and
attached on the opposite side to the chute - nose cone, etc.
Descon12.... GO!17 Sep 2003 18:50 GMT15
Website is up-n-live:  http://rmrdescon.com/
Okay, the voting for the theme was interestingly close and therefore

Typical Chinese bent for secrecy. Love the "as far as I know things
are great" quote. Plausible deniability anyone :).
Should be interesting around Oct 1.

Somewhere to shoot off a few in South SF Bay Area or Penninsula?15 Sep 2003 21:25 GMT4
We're looking for a place in the SF Bay Area (preferably South Bay or
Peninsula) to spend an hour or so shooting off a few Estes model rockets.
We used to do it at Mountain View Shoreline Park as kids, but based on
another thread I saw from last May, that's seemingly no longer ...

Just a thought15 Sep 2003 04:56 GMT23
What is the position of the ATF, Congress, and the HSA people with model
aircraft?
It would seem with all of the problems we have been having, and with the
statements about model rockets being made into guided missiles, what about
Coincidence, or - ?15 Sep 2003 03:21 GMT3

Got my Level 1 today15 Sep 2003 00:38 GMT12
Got a chance to fly for Level 1 cert today.  It was partly cloudy and kind
of breezy, not a real great day for flying.  I had already lost one rocket,
so my
confidence was a little lacking.
Supplemental: Descon 12 MPR/HPR14 Sep 2003 14:03 GMT6
Okay, this thread is to make sure I didn't totally screw up the MPR &
HPR parts list for Descon 12 (sizing up was NOT easy).
Look here and offer comments! ("great", "good job", "works for me",
would be the comments I'm fishing for, but if not, please be specific
Lil' Johnny Rocket First Flight14 Sep 2003 06:22 GMT4
LCO "flies like crap"
Boy did I hear the comments, then the whoops and hollers as the streamer
came out.  Flew nicely on the E28-4 though ejection seemed a bit late.  I'm
probably heavier because when I went to 'paint the interior' I managed to
Historic Air Show in town13 Sep 2003 23:14 GMT9
I was burnin' a few burgers on the grill when I heard a distinct rumble
in the air I'd never heard before.  As it cleared the trees  a big,
beautiful 4 engine bird graced the skies.  I called out the kids.  As it
moved closer there was no doubt about it.  A B-17 was putting out 4 ...
