OK, here's a jem for all of you guys who want to turn your own NCs and TCs
but lack space. This served me well with balsa and even hickory shovel
handles (I turned them into nose cones). It's cheap enough and it works. All
you need are the knives. You can bid on RMR and you can view ...
Rec.Models.Rockets disapeared on giga news30 Nov 2003 17:42 GMT1
My home ISP for news is the giganews server and at 12:30 today, it's
not listed any more ! (RMR is not listed, only alt.rockets and uk
rockets.)
I wonder if those DDOS attacks going on over the weekend targeted RMR
RMR advice30 Nov 2003 08:56 GMT1
I want to post a few rockets on rmr for auction. In days past one used to be
able to upload a jpg right to the auction site. Now it asks for a URL. Is
this the only way to get photos posted?

I wanted to sell this kit earlier but couldn't find the dang thing when
somebody expressed an interest in it. Then, when I did find it, I lost the
individual's name and email address. So, now it's on RMR. It's new, in the
origninal box but, I did open it. Otherwise, this puppy is ...

Silking Balsa Fins?30 Nov 2003 03:56 GMT4
I'm hoping someone can help me with a question on reinforcing balsa
fins with silk paper, like that done on RC planes.  It has been
several years since I last did this.  I know there is a 50/50 mix
using a glue with thinner, but I can't find the exact name anywhere.
29/180-240 Plugged Forward Closure?29 Nov 2003 22:58 GMT4
Is the purpose of the optional plugged forward closure, so that no ejection
charge is used and you use a altimeter for ejection charge purposes?
Are the plugged forward closure and the "standard"  forward closure that has
the rdk delay charges interchangable.....can you use one or ...
Rocket Powered Race Car29 Nov 2003 16:49 GMT5
I saw estes advertising their new rocket dragsters and was thinking this
might be fun to try.  I was thinking of building something slightly larger
that would be propelled with a small E or F 24mm motor down the sidewalk
along a 200' tether.  Anyone ever tried building one of these?
Paint thread29 Nov 2003 15:14 GMT5
OK, a technical based paint thread.  Who would have thought such a
thing would come up.
Has anyone tried these or similar water based auto paints?

Rocket tracking gadget28 Nov 2003 21:06 GMT21
Anyone tried these?  Is this GPS comparable to Garmin unit that others have
said was so good for rocket tracking?  I like the fact that it's GPS and FRS
in one gadget!
