Raffle Prize from US Rockets23 Nov 2003 04:20 GMT16
Has anyone who won a raffle prize in the "Save Rocketry Now" campaign
received their prize from US Rockets?
I received my prize from PML last Thursday. I read here where Jerry
indicated he had sent some prizes out, but mine was not one of them.
Airliner (air freight) hit by SAM23 Nov 2003 01:06 GMT1
http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/11/22/sprj.irq.main/index.html
This story is claiming that a MANPAD hit a courier aircraft today.
If the story is correct it was an SA-7, I would think a 7b.  Imagine how
much better something designed in the last quarter century might do?
Semroc23 Nov 2003 00:19 GMT12
Anybody notice that Vern and Gleda Estes were wearing Semroc hats in
the photos in this quarter's issue of Sport Rocketry?
I thought that was kind of interesting... and encouraging.

Cigar tube or other long skinny tube wanted22 Nov 2003 21:30 GMT22
I'm searching for some long skinny tubes with resealable caps. 6" or even
longer.  The only thing that comes to mind is a cigar tube. Plastic or metal
would work, but I'd rather avoid glass, since they could break.  Even better
if they are about the same OD as the AA Maglite.  Any ...
Who is lightning Pyro22 Nov 2003 05:56 GMT1
There was a donation from a company called Lightning Pyrotechnic.
However, I have not been able to find a URL for them and they are not
listed in the vendor list on FlyRockets.
Anybody know them?

Biggest Boost Glider22 Nov 2003 00:43 GMT45
So what is the biggest boost glider that you have seen? (Other than the Space
Shuttle).  Is it possible to have a slow launch say with an M then have an RC
glider.  Is there a manufacturer that makes boost gliders for a 29mm or 38mm
motor mount?
At least someone has beaten the ATF22 Nov 2003 00:22 GMT8
The following article is a follow-up on a story that was posted here several
months ago. It's not directly related to rocketry, but at the time some had
suggested this man's fate was what ATF had in mind for unlicensed rocket
hobbyists:
New poster - Estes SV paper wrap help needed21 Nov 2003 23:19 GMT5
After a 29 year hiatus I am building a rocket again.  Unlike in my youth I
will be able to fly this puppy.  I'm currently building an Estes 30th
anniversary Saturn V.  So far so good.  The dreaded wraps have proven to be
less of a problem that I anticipated thanks to the thin CA ...
Fiberglassing Advice Needed21 Nov 2003 21:02 GMT26
Okay, so I'm going to take that big step from model rocketry into HPR
and do some 'glassing.
I've got some 3 and 4 inch rockets to glass and here's my idea.
For each tube: 1 wrap of 4oz. cloth (can I do two layers at once?),
Grrr... X-Plane..21 Nov 2003 20:47 GMT17
Thing is slow as a cold molasses in the winter when it comes to loading.
Everytime I want to do something other than flying the harddrive grinds like
crazy and the program take ages to respond. Plus the flight planner dont
work... how can I fly from taiwan to LAX if I dont know ...
