Shock cord mounts18 Nov 2003 06:29 GMT7
What is the best way to mount a shock cord to the motor tube, only having
almost a half inch of centering ring? I was thinking that there is not
enough ring there to support an eye bolt and want the masses opinion before
I continue.
Magnetic apogee detector troubleshooting18 Nov 2003 03:46 GMT18
Hey folks, got a problem with my MAD...I think.
What I would like to know is if those with the MAD kit assembled without
modifications with the standard 1000uf cap and 9V battery could do some
measurments for me.

Starting a rocketry club?18 Nov 2003 01:21 GMT17
I'm a BAR (for the fourth time), except now it's different. I have a
2yr old daughter who attended her first launch yesterday. She had a
great time watching us launch and even rocovering rockets that were
close enough for her to run to.  I let her press the button a bunch of

Final Rocket Challenge Comment & Survey17 Nov 2003 21:49 GMT58
...I bet, if each launch had been given a "5 count", instead of a
"10 count", the whole show would have gone a lot faster.   ;O/
Which brings me to wonder...  maybe this is a regional thing,
like "coke" vs. "soda" vs. "pop".
Discovery Rocketry Challenge no aired in Canada17 Nov 2003 20:11 GMT131
Rushed home from Buffalo last night to take in the Rocketry Challenge on
Discovery on to 'discover' that it was not aired north of the 49th.
parallel. Should have stayed overnight in Buffalo! What a pity. Did anyone
tape the 3 hour show that might be willing to help me out? I didn't ...
Rocketry Outreach Materials17 Nov 2003 19:36 GMT11
With all the rocketry PR going on, I thought it would be a good idea to
make some of the rocketry outreach materials I've put together over the
years available on CD. The URL is:

Grain sizes17 Nov 2003 18:41 GMT3
I am pretty sure that I know the answer to this, but thought I'd ask
anyway.
Is there a standard for grain sizes of the different reloadable
motors?  In otherwords, is the grain size for a 29/38/54/75/98mm motor
New SIAR members17 Nov 2003 17:59 GMT1
Even the SIAR has been effected by the Rocket film, during the last week, we've
had 4 new members from the AV area join the list and one OLD member from the
70's find up again and he's back too.

Grain question with regardes to BATFE17 Nov 2003 17:59 GMT3
With regards to the 62.5g limit, is that per grain or is that the
total weight of propellant in the rocket?
Cheers,

Flyrockets possibility at Udvar-Hazy opening?17 Nov 2003 14:03 GMT3
With the enormous Udvar-Hazy museum opening in a month I'm wondering if
someone in the DC area can see if flyrockets.com can be displayed
somewhere in the building.  They will have dozens of static rocket
displays, and in time, millions will go through it's doors from all over
Monster Garage . . . Monster Rockets!17 Nov 2003 03:03 GMT3
The last time I launched a rocket was in the 60's. The other day I saw
the Discovery Channel and had to wipe the drool!
Ok, so I'm back to rockets.
I also noticed a BUNCH of people who would instantly qualify for
Quest X-3017 Nov 2003 02:08 GMT7
Ok,
I picked up a Quest X-30 at the newest Hobby Lobby here ($14.95) and I was
wondering if anyone here in rmr land has built and flown it. Upon inspection
of the package, I find it will be a different kind of build from the usual
