OK.
Here is a Goal for me. Others might take head, as they know allot more then
I do about rockets.
Since we all type a whole bunch on this news group, we all got plenty of
Good price on Mirage color-changing paint02 Dec 2003 02:27 GMT7
I happened to be in K-Mart in Raleigh, and they had the Mirage paint marked
down to $15, then $14, then $8 per set!
I have no idea of this is a widespread phenomenon or just this store, but I
thought I'd let y'all know.
BAR 1st flight02 Dec 2003 01:59 GMT18
I am new to this group and from reading the FAQ would be considered a
BAR ;-)
I built my 1st rockets over this Thanksgiving weekend, and flew them
today. The 1st was a Estes Alpha III, that came in a box set which I
The Gates Brothers02 Dec 2003 01:01 GMT6
Does anyone know what GBR have been up to of late? Their website hasn't been
updated in a while, and seems to suffer from bandwidth problems (monthly
data transfer limit exceeded messages). I seem to remember people mentioning
several more recent flights of theirs (like XPRS) but ...

Tube Launched 500 MPU Screamers!!!!!01 Dec 2003 22:13 GMT7
Anyone got the 411 on any tube launched 500 mph screaming rockets?
I am referring to a rocket that is kept in and fired from a reusable tube
container. Something that could be buried in the ground to mimic the launch of
ICBM missilies from silos. Any size rocket short of being too ...
Replacing damaged Estes parts01 Dec 2003 22:01 GMT4
Well I guess things were going too well on the Estes SV.  Completion of the
upper stage and CSM went well, very pleased with the results.  Completion of
the first stage was going great until I damaged one of the vacu-form hold
downs on the lower body wrap while touching up ...
Not exactly rocket scientests01 Dec 2003 20:53 GMT11
For those of you who are not fans of the "As a matter of fact, I am a
rocket scientist" T-shirts, here's a wonderful alternative.

Electronics question01 Dec 2003 20:49 GMT9
After a year of intensive BAR technical catch-up, I'm now only ten years
behind the curve and ready for my next step; flight electronics.
In particular, I am wondering if there is a set of standards for any
popular sport rocket or R/C electronic systems, especially any
shelf life of Aerotech reloads?01 Dec 2003 20:32 GMT18
Anyone know if there is an official company line, or real-world
estimate, on the shelf-life of unopened RMS reloads?
Fat and low....01 Dec 2003 17:27 GMT25
I am getting back into the model rocket hobby and had some questions.
The places available for me to launch are not well suited to high
altitude - high power rockets.  What rockets would make good
low-altitude crowd pleasers.  Years ago I had an estes mean machine
action: user certification01 Dec 2003 15:59 GMT6
user certification - education and demonstrated competency
considering that a "New TRA" may have a scope which includes rocketry
beyond commercial or 'EX' as practiced by the current TRA, we need to
examine what role user certification should play.
24-29mm motor retainers01 Dec 2003 13:15 GMT6
I hate it when I can't track down an old post. Some time in the last
year or so, there was a company, I believe out of the UK, that was
selling some 24-29mm aluminum motor retainers with flared nozzles.
Anybody remember these or was it just my imagination?
action: monitor progress01 Dec 2003 13:14 GMT8
monitor progress - performance measures, so we, and the membership know
what's working, and what's not.
I think this is one of the most critical components of a successful
launch of a "New TRA"
