Resolution with Rocket Hunter20 Jan 2004 02:10 GMT32
Joe Mullins called today (Rocket Hunter) and offered a very reasonable
"excuse"  to why I haven't received my transmitter or phone call/email since
December 16th. Until shown otherwise, I will take this at face value and
rescind any negative comments about Rocket Hunter. He has ...
Best "fat" rocket for L2 certification20 Jan 2004 01:05 GMT16
I'm interested in opinions on the best "fat" rocket (>4") for L2 certification,
i.e., regular J/K flights. I looked at the LOC Warlock but was unimpressed by
its not quite "through fin" design.
Thoughts?
How legal is it to launch rockets in Canada?19 Jan 2004 23:15 GMT16
I've been interested on and off in amateur rocketry, and since Ive
read the FAQ I wont ask "how much of this do you mix with that"
questions. In fact I have no plans to start anything, just gathering
information and feasibility of the hobby.

C6-0 CATO picture19 Jan 2004 05:46 GMT3
I tried to use a very old* C6-0 in my Estes Shrike last week, the nozzle
blew out.  To those of us watching, we just heard a pop and a cloud of
smoke, then the sustainer kept going, and completed a perfect flight.  Even
the "Lego man" in the payload capsule came back with a smile on ...
Rocsim Help19 Jan 2004 02:55 GMT2
I am trying to design a rocket with 3 strap-on boosters.  I can't figure
out how to get the data into Rocsim.  I am running version 7.
Any help would be appreciated.
TIA
ITC 213 Ceramic Coating19 Jan 2004 01:37 GMT5
Has anyone benefited from using ITC213 Ceramic coating on
their graphite or metal nozzles?  It seems like a good idea
to me.
ITC213 is especially formulated to protect metals and graphite,
Upscale Battlestar Galactica18 Jan 2004 16:34 GMT5
Someone posted a link to a really cool site with a huge Battlestar Galactica
upscale.  He also had a lot of telescope stuff on the page.  I lost the link.
Anyone have it?
Thanks,
Saturn V article on abmr18 Jan 2004 09:31 GMT1
I just posted an article over on abmr about the Saturn V's at Huntsville
Alabama, that appeared in yesterday's Birmingham News. There are several
interesting statements in the article about the Moon/Mars missions and
includes some info. that shoots down the rumor often repeated here ...
40% off at Ben Franklin...18 Jan 2004 01:02 GMT30
Just a little heads ...
Ben Franklin has a 40% off coupon (which you can pick up in the store) for
any one item over $9.99. They sell D (Estes) motors for that price which,
with the coupon, brings it down to $6.00 + tax. Not a bad deal. The coupon
Old discussion about motor cert 18 Jan 2004 00:41 GMT1
Here is an almost 7 year old discussion about motor certs, USR, ATF,
etc that if you don't look at the dates, you would swear occurred
today.

(not quite on topic) longest thread17 Jan 2004 20:16 GMT2
Just wondering--what is the longest thread ever (in terms of number of
posts) om rmr?  I think the [TRA motor certs] USR/the trial of iz post has
passed the googol mark.
New Poster - Rules?17 Jan 2004 13:28 GMT14
This is the first time I have been to this newsgroup.  What are the rules
regarding mentioning ("advertising") of rocketry-related services and/or
parts?  I don't want to offend anyone.

Garmin Rinos17 Jan 2004 07:38 GMT21
The Garmin Rino GPS/Radio  is a great unit. I have a 110 and a 120. What
makes them interesting for rocketry is that the units track each other
automatically. Once contact has been established, tracking is automatic
unless you disable the function. The Garmin transmits GPS data ...
