advice on building baffles29 Feb 2004 23:57 GMT3
Just starting to get my hands dirty with rockets again after about an 18
year break from the hobby.
I'd like to learn more about efficient baffle designs that can be
constructed relatively easy.  I'm hoping to learn about designs that have
Whatever happened to Centuri?29 Feb 2004 23:53 GMT20
I've wondered for a long time whatever happened to Centuri Engineering
Company.  When I was a youth, the vast majority of my model rockets
came from Centuri, with the remainder being Estes.  I always thought
Centuri had much better designs, and their parts were made better and
"X-Prize" Barbie?29 Feb 2004 23:31 GMT8
This is also a testing, my browser seems to be a tad cranky today and
won't let me post to news groups. Well, it didn't before but seems to be
now.....sigh!
This idea popped up last night after we were talking about what I now
Judge to Jerry Irvine: Sit Down/Shut Up29 Feb 2004 16:31 GMT38
Jerry do you want to tell everyone here what happened in the Aerotech
bankruptcy hearing a couple days ago or do you want me to?

K-F Airfoils?29 Feb 2004 01:28 GMT10
Has anyone ever experimented with stepped airfoil fins, such as the
Kline-Fogelman design? I checked the FAQ and the group's usenet
archives, but didn't see anything.
Rocketeers over 40 will remember this space adventure28 Feb 2004 13:49 GMT2
I don't know what our age distribution is here, but this website talks
about an old animated space cartoon that has all but vanished.  They
use a old Polaris style rocket and I am SURE nobody has seen this
unless they are between 45-55 years old.  It changed my way of

TRA membership kit arrived today...... 28 Feb 2004 12:37 GMT9
Some time ago I posted RE: a long wait for my TRA membership.... As it turns
out there was more info needed and an ISP mail issue that caused the delay.
With a relay of the info  needed  it got  things on track.
I'm pleased to report my TRA membership kit arrived today neatly packed ...

Estes Outlander28 Feb 2004 04:12 GMT1
Just picked this one up at Hobbylinc -- The innards llok a lot like the ol'
Mars lander.  Nice big blow-molded nose cone.  This kit looks like it could
be the basis for a lot of kitbashing and modifications.  One of the die cuts
looks just like it cam from the Mar's Lander.
recovery wadding28 Feb 2004 03:49 GMT30
I am fairly new to rocketry and have been using packets of recovery
wadding from estes. This is quite expensive where i live and i was
wondering if there are any alternatives to the shop bought packets.
Please help

Don't know the full details so IZ or JI will have to hijack this thread.
Ps: there is arsenic in this TROLL fodder.
