Nike-Ajax from empire rocketry..02 Feb 2004 20:24 GMT10
Has anyone successfully built and launched the Nike Ajax from empire rockets
(http://www.empirerockets.com/)?  It's a great looking scale kit with custom
turned balsa transition, and I had mine painted beautifully, but it did an
immediate face plant when I launched it.  The fins ...
A modest proposal... or Jerry Irvine saves the Universe02 Feb 2004 20:20 GMT309
Assuming Jerry has the stones and a few bucks that is.
To give Jerry the chance to be the hero that saves rocketry, sticking a fork
in the eye of Tripoli and grinding his detractors into the dust like so many
irrelevant stains along the way, I present the following scenario for ...

flight report (humor)02 Feb 2004 17:16 GMT3
It was the night after chinese new years, not a creature was stirring, well
except for a bunch of kids doing whatever they feel like... I took my stick
rocket, which looked like an 18mm motor stuck to a stick with a cone on
it... I put it in a bottle, lit the fuse, and when it went ...
Motor use and NAR safety code question02 Feb 2004 14:26 GMT2
The safety code requires motors to be used IAW manufacturer recommendations.
Can I use a motor (BP) during a flight for other than strict propulsion
and still be in compliance at a sanctioned launch?
Essentially, a motor assisted deployment system. I've obviously heard of

Ping Jerry - Rockfest 2004?01 Feb 2004 15:52 GMT1
Hey Jerry, I was looking forward to the Easter weekend launch (I seem to
recall a February date as well).
Couldn't find any mention of it on U.S. Rockets web page.
Still on?  It's a 1400 mile drive for us, but we were really looking forward
Art Applewhite01 Feb 2004 06:27 GMT2
Thought I'd throw out a plug for Art.  After building and flying the
MicroMax saucer he has for free download on his website, I decided to order
a couple of his bigger saucers.  Communication was excellent, shipping was
very fast and the kits look sharp.  Can't say enough about how ...

(Sorry, couldn't resist.) There was a book about the last flight, some
other things, and the CAIB report.

Binder Design scale kits?01 Feb 2004 01:06 GMT2
Hi Mike--
Were you kidding a while ago when you said you could fill the niche (a large
selection of mid to high power scale kits) left empty by companies like
Aardvark and Blackhawk going out of business?
Keep your Launch field , Here is how01 Feb 2004 00:49 GMT40
It has recently been brought to my attention that all rocketry clubs have
been doing it wrong.
These steps, as I have been told, will help to secure your field for many
years to come.
