Mythbusters tonight26 Feb 2004 05:43 GMT24
I just got a glance as I was walking through the family room, but here's
what I THOUGHT I saw on MythBusters tonight:
They were trying to show how an overzealous trombone player could knock
down the conductor by blowing out the 'mute' piece of the trombone.  At
More good vendor service26 Feb 2004 02:49 GMT1
I've heard occasional comments about FlisKits, and took the occasional
look at their website, but didn't break down and buy any until last week.
I have to admit that one of the 'reasons' that I ordered is because of
the free downloadable kits that they've posted -- not that I've ...
New (kinda) to rockets26 Feb 2004 00:19 GMT5
I'm kinda new to rockets (well, I was real interested when I was younger,
but could never find a location that I was comfortable
to launch, so I stopped), now I'm interested in getting back into rockets
again (probably just low-power rockets), and I'd like
Nike Smoke25 Feb 2004 23:19 GMT16
Does anyone know of a "good" model of the Nike Smoke which uses A, B
or C engines, or for that matter D engines?  I used to have the
Centuri model, and it was my all-time favorite rocket, but it was
destroyed when it drifted to the top of a tree about 80-100 feet tall.
Kinda OT25 Feb 2004 21:20 GMT7
This evening my son (13) and I were puttering around in the rocket shop when
our discussion turned to aerodynamics.  He has a growing interest in flying.
He said someone should invent a wing that won't stall.  With no thought,
blurted that someone already did 30 plus years ago and ...
Rocketry and MARS25 Feb 2004 18:16 GMT106
I was sitting here thinking...(always a bad thing)  I was wondering how high
a typical model rocket would fly on Mars considering the atmospheric
qualities.....or for that matter a HPR rocket......
I wonder if we could convince NASA on the next MARS exploration to drop a

Damian Russo25 Feb 2004 16:12 GMT2
Anybody know what Damian Russo is up to these days?
During the RATS days, he was the rocket king.
For the past few years, I've jeard jack squat.

The Launch Pad Kits Source Needed25 Feb 2004 14:55 GMT5
I'm looking to purchase some Launch Pad kits. Any good Webstores still have
any in stock? The Launch Pad website has not been updated in two years and
some of the webstores that carry these kits are just as outdated.
TIA
Vendor service25 Feb 2004 07:29 GMT7
There have been a couple of threads recently about both vendor service
and about 'cloning' of old Estes kits.
I heard a mention of QModeling (http://www.qumodeling.com), so decided
to take a look at their kits.  They don't have many, but I was impressed
WTB: Fin Alignment Guide25 Feb 2004 01:20 GMT1
I'm looking for someone that would be interested in selling a fin alignment
guide.  I like the look of the old Estes model that could do 3 and 4 fin
configurations.
A cared for but USED fin guide would be fine with me since i actually want

Does anyone know if the MESS stats are available?  I've found forms but
no numbers for malfunctioning engines.

Bumper WAC Details?24 Feb 2004 19:47 GMT7
I need a few dimension details for the Bumper configuration of the WAC
Corporal for some scale work. In particular I need the dimensions
describing the fins. They're not the straight clipped deltas like the
regular WAC Corporal, they're an acute clipped delta with two
Coverdale on Sunday MDRA24 Feb 2004 17:25 GMT3
I had intended to go on Sunday, but heard the winds were hellacious....23
gusting to 32 mph. How was it?  --  Richard "tell the truth, now" Hickok
