| Clearing up some Estes rumors/questions | 20 May 2004 23:19 GMT | 4 |
I've noticed a number of questions and/or rumors regarding Estes as of late. I just wanted to clear some of these up. Vern has/had nothing to do with the new kits, he is at home on the ranch. He hasn't been involved with the Estes company since he retired

| Ft-Lbs > Newtons? | 20 May 2004 21:08 GMT | 22 |
I know this might be a dumb question but I've never known why a foot-pound is larger than a newton. Never made any sense as a kid, still doesn't now that I'm back fiddling with the math again after having returned to the hobby. A meter is longer than a foot, a kilo is heavier

| compressed air | 20 May 2004 03:19 GMT | 2 |
When constructing a homemade jet, could compressed air from a shop compressor be used. My idea was to use a flame tube much like the setup on a turbojet made with a turbocharger. Any comments or advice welcome!

| Clear BT-80 body tubes? | 19 May 2004 05:28 GMT | 4 |
There's a project I'm thinking about that would be "improved" by having a clear payload section so the payload in visible. Is there such a thing out there in the diameter range of say an Estes BT-80, or there abouts?

| Super Big Bertha plans or fin scans | 19 May 2004 05:17 GMT | 4 |
Does anyone have a scan of the plan set for the Super Big Bertha? Failing that, I am mostly interested in nailing a scan of the actual fin set. The nose cone and BT-80 tubes are easy enough. I looked at JimZ's site and Ye Olde Rocket Shoppe and cannot find these. Rocksim files out ...

| Question on Devcon 5 minute epoxy and label warning | 19 May 2004 02:46 GMT | 11 |
I needed a strong glue for home repair. I bought the Devcon 5 minute Expoy in my local hardware store. There were warnings not to get it on your skin as you mixed it, etc. Of course I got some on my skin, so I washed immediately. I also left a window open for ventilation while ...

I've ordered some igniters from "Quickburst". I hope they arrive in time and are as good as they imply. Meanwhile, as a back up I'd like to try the Magnelite wires using my Igniterman pyrogyn. My question is does this work? I would appreciate any feedback from somebody who has tried ...
