RF, metal rods, witches, wizards and stuff24 Jun 2004 18:58 GMT11
A question for the RF " knowledgeable".
I am placing a transmitter (The RDAS transmitter/antenna to be precise) in
the bottom end of an avionics bay.
In the bottom compartment there will be two threaded steel rods running
Spacewalk tomorrow,... I think24 Jun 2004 14:35 GMT4
Was flipping 2,000 channels and the ISS session on NASA (on Directv now,
376) indicated a space walk would occur tomorrow (Thursday I think) in the
afternoon (4 something) Houston time.  Wasn't exactly sure if the ISS 'show'
was live or a recording, guess I'll find out tomorrow.

I recorded the interview on my 'puter. It's about 80 megs now but i'll
re-encode it hopefully down to 10 megs or so. I don't have the
bandwidth to host it, anyone got a webserver with free bandwidth?

non-government sponsored vehicle, and the first private civilian to fly a

Estes Coldpower (histrorical question)23 Jun 2004 16:23 GMT2
Around the time I gave up model rockets, I bought the Estes Scamp (a
coldpower convertible). Obviously, the coldpowered rockets are a thing
of the past (seeing as the propellent was freon). Problem: I never got
the thing to work. The engine would go off, but the gas would not come
Cheap accellerometers?23 Jun 2004 03:19 GMT8
Does anyone know any good *cheap*, single-axis accelerometers with a
range of about +/- 10 g's (error on the order of +/- 1%)?  I'm hoping
to incorporate this with a microcontroller.  Measurement intervals
would be no faster than 100/s (probably more like 20/s).

Mike Melvill.
Yes, I am absolutely convinced that I had the absolute best seat in the
house for the Space Ship One launch, other than the one in the cockpit
(and yes, I am bragging).
Problems with Performance Hobbies?22 Jun 2004 21:47 GMT10
Anyone know if there's any kind of problem at Performance Hobbies?
I sent in an order on May 21, got an automated email confirmation of
the order, didn't hear from them for weeks, sent them an email asking
them about the order on June 9, tried calling a few days later (no
Cineroc22 Jun 2004 20:17 GMT2
I'm in the finishing stage of a Cineroc clone (with tv cam, not film).
Does anybody have a decent scan of the "Cineroc" decal, or a decent
profile photograph of the cineroc with the decal on it?
