| Scratchbuilt Altimeter | 13 Jul 2004 20:54 GMT | 4 |
I am a recent BAR, having come back to the hobby at a ripe old age.(Never mind) I am wondering if anyone has any idea where I can find info on building a Barometric altimeter. As light and small as possible, of course. I am hoping that some manufacturer has an inexpensive, one ...

| Cheapskate Alert #11 X-Acto blades | 13 Jul 2004 19:57 GMT | 4 |
Office Depot, of all places, is blowing out several X-Acto items. In the Danville, IL store there were about a dozen 100 packs of #11 blades for $8.00 a box left after I got my lifetime supply. Other blades and several handles similarly discounted. These were marked down in steps so ...

| Quaad Cities Launch? | 13 Jul 2004 17:46 GMT | 4 |
I was at the Tripoli QC web site today, and the last launch I saw mentioned was in Nov 03. I'll be coming up there for the next few weeks, and was wondering if there are any launches, or if they lost their fields. Thanks

| LDRS Report - Day 3 | 13 Jul 2004 13:55 GMT | 64 |
The banquet lasted until 12:30 so that's why this is a day late. Another day of beautiful weather. The sun was brutal and nary a cloud in sight. The air was still, and thus many of the M and N motors tickled the waiver.

| A big thanks to all the folks I met at LDRS | 13 Jul 2004 13:29 GMT | 28 |
I'd like to thank BRS for putting on LDRS. From the point of view of a spectator/vendor-type, I found it to be pleasant and well organized. I think BRS deserves a sound "atta boy" for putting on this event. The food concession, run by the 1941 H.A.G. was truly grand. The

| Estes V@ rocket CG | 13 Jul 2004 04:56 GMT | 3 |
Where should the center of gravty be on the estes V2 rocket? Right now it is at 11.75 inch from tail of rocket. That is about 35% up from the tail. That is with the motor. I am guessing that that is not very stable. I downloaded VCP, but I dont know what Im looking

| Barometric deployment in a purely conical rocket | 12 Jul 2004 12:41 GMT | 6 |
I want to use a PML co-pilot to detect apogee in a rocket which is entirely conical, i.e. no parallel body tube. I understand that ideally I would vent the sensor at least one caliber after the transition from the nose to the body, but in this case I

| rocket efficiency | 12 Jul 2004 11:59 GMT | 23 |
I'm trying to work out how efficient a mechanical water rocket would be, and I'm a bit confused about the theory: Rocket 1 accelerates 1Kg water / Second of exhaust to a velocity of 20M/S Rocket 2 accelerates 0.5 Kg water / Second to an exhaust velocity of 40M/S

| Launching AT rockets w/o AT launch controller | 12 Jul 2004 04:34 GMT | 1 |
I'm getting back into rocketry after many years ago launching a bunch of littlish rockets. I've been launching some Estes kits and rockets built from Estes parts in on D's, and want to get into the mid powered E/F/G range. I'm checking out the kits from Aerotech and really like

| Help with Estes SnapShot | 12 Jul 2004 04:31 GMT | 19 |
I am organizing an elementary school rocketry program. I have purchased three Estes SnapShot (RTF) kits to use. I have experience using midpower Aerotech rockets, but have never used any Estes "camera" kits. I plan to replace the parachutes and shock

| Why a Video Rocket might spin, or might not. | 11 Jul 2004 19:09 GMT | 7 |
I have had rockets spin with video on them, and rockets that stay very straight, like on rails. Besides the LOC Bruiser I flew straight as an arrow, in my last video post, I have a LOC I-Roc that stays straight in flight as well.

| I'll be at LDRS--in case anyone cares. Not that anyone would. | 11 Jul 2004 00:31 GMT | 26 |
Oh, I have such a pain in the diodes all down my left side. The first five million years--they were the worst. The second five million years, they were the worst also.... Anyway. After much shuffling, and severals changes-of-plan, it looks like
