So my wife was watching CSI last night and I walked into see a scene where
there was a science project of a volcano and a bottle of AP.

More launch photos..........31 Aug 2004 17:22 GMT2
I've been accumulating pics from launches  since January and since I STILL
haven't gotten around to re-working my site I thought (and was prodded by
Utley) to post some anyway....
I use a Nikon D100, Nikkor 24-120mm and a Nikkor 80-400mm image stabilized
Semi-bad day at Balduck Park...31 Aug 2004 10:12 GMT11
Went out with the kids to launch today.  Things were going ok for a while.
Then I lost my Razor(on its 1st flight) to a rocket-eating tree.  Man, that
thing gets up in the air - even on a B6-4.  A few launches later, my SnapShot
broke the shock cord.  We recovered both the booster ...
Launching in corn fields31 Aug 2004 06:12 GMT11
I'm working on an article for some of the newbies in our club.  Does
anyone have any favorite beepers of personal alarms?  Also, do you
know of any article that are already written on the subject?
A few things that I already own / use are:
Is discussion of motor construction permitted?31 Aug 2004 06:05 GMT12
I've been flying rockets for many years and motor construction is the next
reasonable step. I've been reading like crazy on the subject learning about
safety and propellants but there is very little good information on
construction small motors (c-f). I've ordered "Amateur Rocket ...
I am not worthy...31 Aug 2004 04:44 GMT2
I just received the Peter Alway 1/195 Saturn V scale model (ordered
through Jonrockets), and took a look at the enclosed parts and instructions.
I will bow down and genuflect in the direction of Ann Arbor, Michigan as
soon as I recover.

L800 On-board Video in paper LOC Booster Bruiser30 Aug 2004 20:47 GMT1
Ok, I promised to get the links to many of the regulars here, so here I go.
This page has the On Board videos from my Loc Booster Bruiser.
This paper Bruiser has flown on the Pro54 K660 at LDRS, and now the Pro75
L800 to just shy under a mile by a few feet.
launching rockets question, not specific to portland oregon area, but any specifics would help!30 Aug 2004 18:32 GMT13

followed by a dumb question?)
Anyway...

Rockety tie into Librarys30 Aug 2004 10:25 GMT1
Many Library's across the US have a program called One Book, One Community,
where the encourage the community to read a book and discuss it. In
Pennsylvania the book chosen was "Rocket Boys" by Homer Hickam. Check out :

Herb Desind in A&S Smithsonian29 Aug 2004 07:00 GMT3
I don't know how many of you get Air & Space Smithsonian.  This
month's issue has a 2-page article on Herb Desind and a picture of him
prepping a Cineroc for launch.
igniters29 Aug 2004 02:53 GMT2
I am curious why people have moved away from using shavings from motor
propellant to make igniters. I recall reading where rocketeers use to make
igniters by wrapping a little nichrome wire around a piece of propellant cut
from an AP grain. Cost why, it is cheap and it is easy too. ...

3) the sudden stop at the bottom
New Data28 Aug 2004 23:01 GMT11
I just uploaded some data on igniters. It's in the "Research" area of the
rocketmaterials website. Any comments? Should I continue the project?

Positive Rocketry TV Commercial27 Aug 2004 23:16 GMT3
(This has also been posted on ROL. At the moment, TRF is down.)
Ok, this one I had to share. Not sure if anyone has heard of "The
Foundation For a Better Life", but I just saw one of their commercials
and raced to their website. Low and behold, all of the commercials are
