Model rockets in city parks14 Sep 2004 18:11 GMT111
A week or so ago, someone posted a message about the legality of launching
model rockets in their city's parks (in OR, I think).
So I got curious and called Phoenix Parks and was told that they are NOT
permitted.  This surprised me, as I was told a couple years back by someone
Is Rocky Mountain Rocketry still in business?14 Sep 2004 11:51 GMT10
I can not get any answer from them. I was looking to purchase an Olsen
FCP-M2 altimeter and as far as I know, they are the only source.

heated.

"You can still use motor ejection for the certification flight but you

explaining leverl 2 certification.

Fuel?13 Sep 2004 18:15 GMT26
Is this correct?
Oxidizer + fuel = motor
fuel = just about anything that burns
the O2 released from the oxidizer increases the thermal potential of the

Kyrlon Clear Gloss ends up dull ?13 Sep 2004 14:58 GMT24
Ok, probably a big repeat thread, and someone will tell me it's been brought
up 1000 of times but here goes.
I covered some rockets about 10 days ago with Krylon clear Gloss. In looking
at them now in sun light, the clear has dulled the gloss the paint had had
Venus Probe blow out sale?13 Sep 2004 08:24 GMT6
The place that has been selling the Venus Probes dirt cheap may be
having a final blow-out of them.  This is the lowest per-unit price I've
seen yet, and there are over 1,000 available (in lots of 30).  They are
asking $37.95 for 5 cases of 6 each, and are charging $34.95 ...

Aerotech Mantis Launch Rod Extensions12 Sep 2004 08:30 GMT3
I beefed up a Mirage until it weighed in a 2 lbs 12 oz. The upper lug
is halfway up the almost 5 foot Mantis rod. Almost nothing under an H
will get it going fast enough soon enough. So, I went looking for an
extender for the Mantis rod. Couldn't find one anywhere. I finally
Flame-Free Threads11 Sep 2004 15:43 GMT19
A suggestion-  Since sometimes some of us type first & think later, it
is a good idea to add "Flame-Free Thread" to your subject line when
creating a thread.  That might engage the brain before the fingers
start. - but then again maybe not - but it's worth trying.
OK, all you BARs...11 Sep 2004 15:19 GMT4
Somebody MUST know if there's any reason not to use Minwax wood hardener on
balsa fins prior to glueing them to the BT.
Hasn't anyone tried this before?
