Ok, the first rocket is built, primed and ready for paint. Cant decide the best method though. Im going to paint nosecone/outer 1/3 of fins silver, rest will be a deep red.

The Alabama / Mississippi coast is devastaed. We're really getting hit in B'ham at the moment and it's supposed to get stronger as the day goes on. This thing is unreal. We're going to have sustained winds of around 70 mph most of the afternoon and we're 280 miles from the coast! ...

In former Soviet Union, most common "home-made" motor casing was 12 caliper (gauge) shotgun cartridge - cheap and ready to use. Do any have seen them here?

I went to home depot, lowes, a couple farm stores and garden supplies and could not find Potassium or Ammonium nitrate/perchlorate anywhere. Where am I supposed to get the stuff?

I'm starting this thread because this may take us into a different direction regarding ejection charges. In my limited time I have always used flash bulbs in my ejection charges. I have only had 1 failure (on my main due to not enough BP) using these bulbs.
