Successful Saturday15 Nov 2004 13:39 GMT9
Just got back from out club launch.  Counterbalancing my bad experiences at
GHS,  I had 11 successful launches using 14 motors.
My rebuilt Big Bert (gap-staged D to B version of Big Bertha) flew
beautifully this time.  The pyrogen painted on the B6-4 nozzle seems to have
Sulphur in candy14 Nov 2004 23:33 GMT2
Candy propellant is not easy to ignite in compare with black powder. Will
adding sulphur will improve the thing? Is it possible to use mix with
sulphur safely if using melting?

Open for RMR Opinions... bring 'em on14 Nov 2004 18:50 GMT17
I sent a note on the EMRR Announcement List and then posted the
following:
Wow!  Interesting feedback I got on my last note, so I thought I'd
open it up for discussion.  I'm also going to post on RMR and TRF, so
amateur motor manufacture - what's really wrong with it? [religious  heresy / alternate history speculation?]14 Nov 2004 17:24 GMT53
It seems that a lot of the original HPR activity was
this: someone came up with a way to make a motor that
worked, and made extra to sell to his friends...
At some point TRA decided that wasn't "legitimate"

El, I sent you an email about two weeks ago in re to that Stine book. I lost the mailing
address you sent me previously. Please resend it to LEVEL3 at NYC dot RR dot COM if you
still want it.....

Rocket related conspiracy theory (amusing)13 Nov 2004 23:36 GMT9
Something just dawned on me today. When I lose a rocket, as in going
up but failing to come down (lost sight of, drifted away, etc.) rather
than a crash, I always refer to that one as having "landed in Oz."
But what if that's actually the case? Think of all those rockets that
LDRS and Popular Science13 Nov 2004 23:27 GMT6
At LDRS 23 the fine folks from Popular Science magazine were there
shooting a lot of pictures and interviewing quite a number of the large
projects.  Has anyone seen any of the material in the magazine?  Have I
missed it?
RockSim Demo crashes, does the reg version as well?13 Nov 2004 16:05 GMT8
I am evaluating RockSim with the demo. I realize several menu options are
greyed out in the demo, but it also crashes when I save a file I have been
working on. It actually saves it well enough, but when I try to re-open
it.... It says Error this file was created with a previous ...

Missile Hit ?13 Nov 2004 09:44 GMT52
Sensational , but compelling.  I'm not big on conspiracy theories but this
might need more study.  Does anyone have pics that discredit this ? If so,
please post links.  I'd really like to learn the truth about this ...

Pro38 Aft closure dimensions13 Nov 2004 09:20 GMT3
Can someone measure (reasonably accurately) the diameter of the aft
"closure" on a Cesaroni Pro38 reload for me (I know its not really a
closure like the aerotech motors  - but I don't know what else to call
it).
Rocksim/optimal mass/ I've missed something13 Nov 2004 00:54 GMT3
Ok, after some of the suggestions given here I finally got brave and
loaded in Rocksim and fumbled my way through to do the designs I'd
originally built in SpaceCAD. Things went along well enough until I let
it calculate optimal mass. It gave me optimal for the sustainer alone ...
Sealed military record?13 Nov 2004 00:31 GMT119
Subject: Sealed military record?
This is more than an eye opener..........please pass to your whole list
Unlike McCain, Bush, and Gore,     Kerry has adamantly refused to authorize
the release of his military records. Most think it's because  of his phony
38/ 29mm adapter & Kaplow Clip Question13 Nov 2004 00:30 GMT5
I'm finishing construction of rocket that I used a 38mm MMT & plan to use a
29mm adapter at times. The problem is that I have to bend the brass clip to get
past the wooden ring on the rear end of the adapter & with that bend, it's too
confined to be able the screw the clip into the ...
