Help - Booster Drop-Off Device31 Dec 2004 19:42 GMT2
I have seen a device the attaches drop-off boosters to an airframe and with
an e-match and a little BP or Pyrodex breaks a nylon screw for a clean
separation.
I need to find this product.
Fin Configuration Cosmetic or Practical?31 Dec 2004 05:44 GMT2
I'm wondering about the fin configuration on rockets like the Talon
(http://www.giantleaprocketry.com/products_kits_talon.asp); is there any
aerodynamic purpose to having larger fins further up, and smaller fins behind,
or is it just for appearance?  Seems like it would be more ...

I'm in the process of updating the cosmodrome rocketry website
(http://www.cosmodromerocketry.com) and would like to have some opinions on
it.  I've still got some background images to go, but the main content and
layout are in place.  If anyone finds any technical errors or has ...

[F-FT] Another round of RMS questions30 Dec 2004 20:40 GMT6
Launched my 24mm RMS again today, this time with an F engine reload
kit.  Had a heck of a time with the Copperhead, but I was given a dipped
igniter that worked great.
Upon cleaning the casing, I noticed that there was a burn-through spot

NAR - Pressing the Fight Home29 Dec 2004 15:35 GMT6
In the middle of your holiday celebrations with family and friends, I
hope many of you have had a chance to read my latest Model Rocketeer
column, "Pressing the Fight Home".  There, I outline the future we
face unless we win our current legal struggle against BATFE.
Semi-OT: RMR Tsunami relief28 Dec 2004 20:18 GMT2
I'd like to beg your indulgence for just a moment.
The recent magnitude 9.0 earthquake and resultant tsunami in
southern Asia has been utterly devastating.  The UN is saying
that this will be the largest relief effort ever mounted.

My Mars Snooper clone--thx Jack and JimZ!!28 Dec 2004 07:46 GMT3
Well, Jack Hagerty's article in the Sept/Oct SpRocketry on the 'Snoop
inspired me to build a clone.  I never owned the kit when I was younger--the
cooling fins and all that sanding scared me!  Now that I am older and wiser
(at least older), I decided to bite the bullet, download ...

metal thickness.  Type 4 does not mention a minimum gage only that the
outside must be metal clad or covered.
