No delay RMS's?06 Dec 2004 17:44 GMT21
Basically now that I have the bugs worked out of my dual deployment
system I'll stop using the motor ejection charges soon (want a bit more
experience before doing that just yet). Obviously that means saving the
BP for something else, but what about the delay elements? Is there ...

Just wondering. Any concerns regarding how long we hold on to the BP for
ejection until we should start to worry. I have not had any problems but

Comments on my website06 Dec 2004 12:59 GMT21
Could people please comment on my website
http://www.freewebs.com/jandjrockets and suggest any improvements. In
particular I would like to make sure the thing in the techniques section
makes sense to everyone, and if not, what the problem is.
Whooo- Hooooo!!! Launch tomorrow!!!!06 Dec 2004 04:58 GMT5
Well, it'll be the first chance I've had since moving to Ohio from
California. Them there crazy Skybusters are going to convene in a farm field
in Amherst tomorrow, in what will probably be about 35 degree, to launch
rockets. My thin California-ized blood isn't going to be able ...
Stormcaster modification06 Dec 2004 00:55 GMT4
I have read that this rocket can be easily modified to accept an "E" engine.
Any tips on how this can be done?
Thanks!

Nosecone question05 Dec 2004 23:01 GMT7
I have just started making my own nosecone on my lathe and I plan on making
a nosecone for my upscale Freaky Flyer and came accross a problem in finding
large enough pieces of wood.  What I was thinking of doing is taking some
thinner wood and glue it to the size I need.  If I do ...

Anyone in the DC / VA / MD area have access to a small digital motor test stand
to generate mid/high-power thrust/time and total impulse data for further
reduction in MS Excel?
Or, can anyone else anywhere provide a reference to a reasonably accurate and

One of the kids wanted a rocket...  Wife claims "they're so dangerous"
End of the show, the wife was fighting with the husband, as the husband
bought the kid a rocket.  Just then a mod rock come flying thru the window
and lawn darts into a wall. (the wife's flaky sister had launched ...

Strength of materials test:  shear pins04 Dec 2004 13:46 GMT5
I was looking at the subject tests, and I see that #4 and #6 nylon screws
were tested, but not styrene rod.  Is there any particular reason?  If I
donate some rod, can it be tested?
Thanks,
Hybrids04 Dec 2004 10:09 GMT3
Does anyone have a link to "How to make your own Hybrid motors" type
sites. I have checked out Flyhybrids.com and the others but they seem to
support aerotech hyperteck and the others. I want to make them from the
ground up.
Mars Lander BT size04 Dec 2004 01:47 GMT2

Rocket Challengeon Discovery Channel03 Dec 2004 22:57 GMT5
I am new to model rocketry, and when I mention that to anyone, they
always ask me if I got hooked after watching the Rocketry Challenge.  When I
tell my story (which is a no to the Rocket Challenge question), they tell me
that I absolutly have to see the program.  Does ...
Breaking down an Estes Engine03 Dec 2004 21:20 GMT35
Ok,
I'm getting ready to try the 3 stage Saturn again. On the first 2 attempts,
I was 6 out of 11 and then 9 out of 11 respectively. The only problem I'm
still having seems to be core engine ignition. I'm chad staging and I'm
