| [F-FT] PML 1/4 Scale Patriot weight | 10 Mar 2005 18:51 GMT | 17 |
OK guys, I'm finishing up my PML 1/4 Scale Patriot. Just one thing -- it weighs a ton more than it ought to. The specs say that it weighs in at 50 oz., however, I didn't weigh the components before assembly.

| Certifying with Ellis Mountain motor? | 10 Mar 2005 15:59 GMT | 67 |
Just noticed on the link that David E-W posted earlier, that Ellis Mountain Motors don't appear on the NAR certified list. They are however on the Tripoli list. Does that mean I cannot Level 1 certify with an EM H50 if I am only a NAR

| Searching for wadding advice | 09 Mar 2005 16:02 GMT | 18 |
Being a BAR starting the end of last season and having only lost one of the Estes micro rockets on an A10 I consider myself lucky out of the 50 or so launches attempted. Have read the FAQ's in rec.model.rockets and purchased a bale of that shredded paper insulation that is ...

| TRA vs NAR Junior Certifications | 09 Mar 2005 00:50 GMT | 47 |
Maybe I'm missing something here, but doesn't Tripoli's Junior Certification Program pale in comparison to NAR's?? Tripoli's allows Jr members to fly F & G motors with supervision (last I checked folks under 18 could buy F motors in most of the US anyway) where

| Has anyone successfully used Firefox "Davey-clones"? | 09 Mar 2005 00:25 GMT | 7 |
I bought some "Davey-clone" igniter chips, "Extra Low Voltage" non-conductive primer (black), and "Pyromag" pyrogen (reddish) from Firefox recently. Put together about 35 igniters, and can't get them to fire. They show continuity but won't ignite on a 9v battery. I soldered

| Pilot chutes | 08 Mar 2005 21:09 GMT | 3 |
I'm working up to Level 1, scratch building a 4" hybrid powered bird. I'm interested in using a dual deployment system that employs a standard pyrotechnic charge to separate the nose cone and deploy a pilot chute at apogee, then at altitude a mechanism releases the main allowing the ...

| 21-year old BAR | 08 Mar 2005 17:06 GMT | 2 |
Well, its been about 4 years since I last posted to RMR. I was on "hiatus" but after helping a 10 year old launch an Estes RTF model the past weekend...well the thrill was all too much :) Anyway, looking for a NAR chapter in or around Northern Delaware with

I must be one of the few people who still uses the Fehskens-Malewicki equations. I have used them as refinements, in each interval, to digital calculations, and

| [F-FT] Altimeter questions | 08 Mar 2005 11:10 GMT | 3 |
I don't think these are your standard altimeter questions, but here goes... How many readings (and at what rate) do folks typically store for a flight with an altimeter? How many bits resolution? Same question for those of you doing motor testing -- when I look at the

| Cesaroni Igniter Replacement | 08 Mar 2005 04:53 GMT | 23 |
Sorry for the dumb question, but at the last launch I left behind a box with 4 igniters that came with the Cesaroni pro38 reloads. I was told not to use a "HOT" igniter to replace the lost ones, what would you recommend as a replacement e-match? I do not have an ATFE LTC so I'm ...

| [F-FT] Tower launcher | 08 Mar 2005 04:51 GMT | 5 |
I seem to recall a recent discussion/advertisement about a tower launcher, but can't seem to find it. So, can anyone recommend a good tower launcher (or plans to build one -- though I'm not really a 'metal worker')?
