[history] MR-LMR-HPR-?30 Apr 2005 20:33 GMT70
The first major era of model rocketry was pioneered by Carslile, Estes,
Stine and Reese. This era ushered in what can only be described as a
revolutionary change in consumer rocket safety, access, use in schools
and use in local parks.
My approach to Level 130 Apr 2005 19:34 GMT26
Just thought I'd post something directly about rocketry, and a couple other
folks have described their approach to NAR Level 1. Here's my plan...
I've acquired my Skyripper H hybrid motor and most of the pieces of GSE...
I've learned a lot about some very obscure (and hard to find) ...

From the Launch Pad of...30 Apr 2005 00:07 GMT14
Wow!  What a blast from the past!
Somebody handed me an opened "Flying Model Rocketry Range Operations"
box at our Scout meeting last night.  They were cleaning a relative's
closet, and figured that since we're in the midst of our SpaceEx merit
El Mirage report29 Apr 2005 15:47 GMT7
El Mirage is open and the lake bed is dry. New doings with the BLM however.
For groups over 25, there is now an $80.00 permit fee and one must show
insurance.  Thought I'd pass that along. My group launch is still set for
Monday the 30th of May. All are welcome.
Exclusive Deals29 Apr 2005 03:54 GMT71
I was trying to order some bits and bobs from the US recently for part of  a
new scratch built rocket.
I have been told by the company that they can't sell to me as i'm in the UK
and they have an exclusive deal with a UK rocketry re-seller that forbids

Nose mounted altimeters???28 Apr 2005 22:42 GMT10
Hi all..

[FFT]philosophical musings: self regulation28 Apr 2005 13:45 GMT105
Over the past 3 years since I returned to rocketry I have heard those that
trumpet "self-regulation", as the be-all and end-all as far as the reason
why we don't need any additional "outside" interference or regulation .
Self-regulation being that we will all restrict ourselves ...
What happen to Magnum28 Apr 2005 02:36 GMT6
Just wondering. What ever happen to Magnum?
Kline27 Apr 2005 19:07 GMT14
He was yet another LMR witch hunt casualty.
And he had a bulletproof defense. He was exempt as a manufacturer doing
R&D.
Stine/Miller/Apt booted him devoid of "due process". A monologue is not
Lament for the C11-027 Apr 2005 05:20 GMT12
It must be assumed that Estes withdrew the C11-0 due to lack of demand.
But that doesn't stop me from being frustrated.  It is a perfect booster
for mid-sized model rockets (BT-55, BT-60).  It has plenty of thrust to
get things moving with authority, but it stages at a "fun" ...
[FFT] Plugging Estes or Quest BP motors27 Apr 2005 01:53 GMT54
I know some motors come pre-plugged from the factory, ie A10-PT. But lets
say I wanted a A10-6T  which doesn't exist. Only an A10-3T is avilable.
Let say just for the sake of illusion, that I create a small external plug
that either fits within the top of the motor casing and/or ...
Cesaroni Pro38 and Dual Deploy27 Apr 2005 00:40 GMT23
Is there an issue with using the Pro38 motor without the delay or black
powder?  I'll be using electronics for the deployment.
