Team America Rocketry Challenge 200524 May 2005 23:07 GMT5
I have to echo Doug Pratt's sentiments - it was a  brilliantly organized and
executed event - kudos to Trip, NOVAAR, and JP at AIA. Even Mother Nature
cooperated!

Questions about ground testing deployment systems24 May 2005 17:54 GMT14
I'm getting ready to run a ground test of the deployment system of my L1
rocket -- a couple of questions I'd like to ask.
1) What ejection pressure is considered ideal for a 4" airframe? I've seen
15psi batted around but wonder if that isn't a little on the high side.

Team America Rocketry Challenge...thanks!23 May 2005 15:07 GMT1
What a fantastic day! My kids and I were utterly exhausted and
thoroughly happy as we limped back to the van after the barbecue. I'm
so proud of Brian and Valerie; they worked hard all day and earned
their TARC uniforms, and no complaints (at least, none that the old man

Anyone know what's up with the Ninfinger site? It's been off line all day.

Removing cured epoxy from tools?22 May 2005 17:19 GMT17
Is there any solvent to remove cured epoxy from tools like scissors?  My
friend was helping me fiberglass tubes and was cutting the fiberglass
cloth after he epoxied it.
Maybe it would just be cheaper to pay $1 for another pair of scissors and
motor storage question22 May 2005 14:38 GMT10
In April of 2005, I built an Aerotech I211 motor to be used in an
airstart. The igniter fell out and the second motor never lit. I gave
it to  a friend to store (it was a complete motor in the casing, not a
reload kit, just to clarify) until the next lauch which is June 17th.
can old motors be salvaged?22 May 2005 13:27 GMT10
I have a few F40's left over from last year that I took them out of
the pack to do some sub assembly expecting to fly them within a week
or two, but then I crashed my rocket. Now the propellant has a 'skin'
that doesnt burn. If I cut it away the underlaying propellant is ok,
Legal Pads yet?21 May 2005 23:44 GMT26
I see where Ellis Mountain has come out with (yet to be certified) a
whole series of single use motors. Has this anything to do with the
ruling for the fully assembled PADS?
Also where is the ATF on it's correcting the wording that allowed the

An old TRA member showed up at last night's NIRA meeting. He told me an
interesting story. Seems he recently decided to get back into HPR, so he
went to a local TRA launch, re-joined, and re-certified. Except afterwards
his membership was rejected by TRA HQ in Orem. It never got to ...
