Glue06 Jul 2005 19:24 GMT4
I didn't know I raise such a stir on glue :)  Well I've been reading
quite a bit and have a link or two to pass along, although I'm sure
most of you have been there already.
One link says to replace the standard Estes shock cord with elastic
Apogee Saturn V06 Jul 2005 18:58 GMT1
I've been away from rocketry for awhile due to various personal and
family related issues, and to celebrate being back, I was going to
treat myself by picking up an Apogee Saturn V. However, when I went to
their site, I saw that they were out of production until at least 2007!

Great Service Report: Uncle Mike's Rocket Shack06 Jul 2005 13:35 GMT2
Uncle Mike took some time to help me select a birthday present on
Monday.  We selected a Stone Breaker for a lad who specifically asked for
something that would fly on D's and E's.  I placed the order on-line and
received it today via Priority Mail.
Coming Rockets from NASA06 Jul 2005 06:44 GMT1
The "in-line heavy lifter", and the "stick" look to be interesting rocket
vehicles.  I like the stick with the new CEV.   A single SRB  with the 1of 3
possible CEV variations. Now thats interoperability. I always did wonder why
didn't NASA just use 1 or more SRB to build rockets ...

Dog Barf and other things06 Jul 2005 04:10 GMT7
I don not know what 'dog barf' is....figuratively....and a few other
things I've read about...probably pretty common abbrev. for you folks
i.e. hmmmm was it CE?  etc. but I'll soon figure it out.
Seems to me it'd be alot easier to use an 'ejection baffle kit' than
[F-FT] Question/thought on Aerotech delays06 Jul 2005 01:32 GMT34
There has been quite a bit of comment on Aerotech delays lately, part of
which was brought about because of comments that you-know-who posted on
his website.
Now, the following question occurs to me, and I don't know how valid it

altitude record growth05 Jul 2005 19:07 GMT9
For funsies I looked at the best single motor altitude record for each
total implulse class from 1/8 A to N.  I took the best record from the
lists at the NAR website and the list at the Tripoli website.
On average overall, doubling the impulse gives a 33% improvement in
Type of Body tube vs engine size05 Jul 2005 19:05 GMT5
So, I have this giant (9" in diameter) plastic pig.
I was planning on putting a body tube up his...  But after running some
calculations, the finished rocket will be upwards of 10-15 oz.  The pig
itself is 5 oz.  Add parts and clear plastic fins, and it really is...
flying the Mach 1005 Jul 2005 17:42 GMT1
This past weekend I flew my Centuri Mach 10 at our GARLO 2005 launch
in Champaign, IL.  I had a Mach 10 back in the early 70's and lost it in
tall grass at a launch.  I've always wanted another one and was lucky
enough to find one, still in the bag, for sale at NARCON a few ...
Rocket building tips05 Jul 2005 17:14 GMT27
I am getting back into model rocketry after a few years absence. I had
participated in rocketry every year in 4-H and had a great deal of fun
doing it. Now, as I reaquint myself with the hobby and looking at my
expirences as a kid, I see there were a few things I have to improve on
places to buy05 Jul 2005 17:04 GMT4
I finally decided it was time to get rockets for my kids. I have been
away from the hobby for many many years. I used to buy stuff from local
hobby stores. Those seem to have gone the way of the dinasour. Where is
a good (cheaper is even better) place to buy parts, specifically ...
