| [F-FT] Event question | 21 Jul 2005 01:29 GMT | 4 |
I spent a good amount of time today explaining to my students why they were not allowed to launch the modrocs they had just built in the parks around here (Aurora, CO., Park and FAA restrictions).

| Why flat shock cords? | 20 Jul 2005 03:59 GMT | 6 |
Related to another thread on tying knots, I wonder why most manufacturers use flat shock cords (Quest is an exception). Would'nt a round cord, like a rope, be a lot easier to use? Jim

| [F-FT] More knot questions | 19 Jul 2005 21:57 GMT | 12 |
I asked a question about joining two different types of shock cord earlier, and received several great replies in response. Here's another 'knotty' problem: I launched my Black Brant VB yesterday, and at ejection, the shock cord

| LOBsterLARF | 19 Jul 2005 21:17 GMT | 18 |
Today we had a very impromptue LARF launch in the blistering heat. The launch came about after Niall Oswald & Brian Best had mentioned wanting to launch sometime in July at the last UKRA launch. Fantastic day 25 degrees little to no wind highlights in no particular order

| [F-FT] Fixing a G10 fin | 19 Jul 2005 13:12 GMT | 2 |
In launching my Black Brant VB yesterday, it corkscrewed off the pad quite badly. After recovery, I determined that one of the G10 fins had 'warped' slightly. I don't believe the warpage occurred naturally, I'm afraid the fins were probably bent out of true while traveling in ...
