A quick launch report, which will be followed by some more thorough
descriptions of each flight in separate threads (there is a reason...).
I went (for the first time) to Tripoli Central California yesterday, but
only had time to launch two rockets.  I was actually driving through ...

Where do I get a rocket cams18 Jul 2005 21:58 GMT16
I have an Estes Astro Cam.  However, the 110 film it uses is being phased
out.  I would like to replace the camera with something else.  However I do
not want to invest in transmitting cameras and equipment required to receive
the signal. A simple still or video camera, digital or ...
NAR Certification Dates18 Jul 2005 20:06 GMT101
TRA not publishing delay data as some people thinnk they should looks
good compared to the following.  COuld there be a conspiracy at NAR
too?
From NAR web site http://nar.org/NARsandt.html :
FS: Estes Blast-Off Pack and 2 3-packs of rocket engines18 Jul 2005 20:05 GMT16
ebay yanked my auctions for these, even though I saw other auctions that had
been "successful" for the same items.  I'd like to get what I paid for them
(plus shipping) but will entertain other offers, all are new...

In California, harrased by off duty fireman while launching18 Jul 2005 17:33 GMT156
I live near Sacramento CA.  I was minding my own business launching my Estes
model rockets last Saturday.  just as I did the final launch some guy on his
motor cycle turned around and came back. He got off the bike and started
calling on his cell phone.  I gathered up my rockets and ...
Paper on Balsa Fins18 Jul 2005 04:31 GMT29
I've read that some folks spray adhesive onto paper and then adhere
the balsa fins to them, cut them out and subsequently use them just as
they would painted fins....and paint them of course.
I 'guess' this would replace the step of filling the grain of the
Midnight Express18 Jul 2005 02:45 GMT1
I just didn't have any models I could work on today so I went to
Fliskits and dl'ed their 'free' Midnight Express'.
Printed it out on Glossy Card Stock, cut it out but have yet to
begin...I'm here....looks awesome on the glossy though.
Nose Cone Search17 Jul 2005 19:32 GMT7
Hey all...
I am searching high and low, for any nosecones in the seemingly,
increasingly less-popular BT-70 size.  I need something fairly long,
and an ogive  shape...basically a BT-70-sized version of the Estes BNC-55AC
[F-FT] Brush for cleaning reloads17 Jul 2005 11:08 GMT5
In looking for a good brush for cleaning reloads, I found what looks
like a great one at the local hardware store today for about $4.  It's
called a 'refrigeration coil brush', but the great thing is that it's a
quite long brush, that looks as though it will work well for both ...
Popular Science article17 Jul 2005 06:04 GMT172

share.

Club: Reno, NV?17 Jul 2005 06:04 GMT4
I'm getting back into this awesome hobby and was wondering if anyone in this
NG knew of any model rocket clubs in Northern, Nevada?
I know there are a few Bay Area clubs that launch in the Black Rock Desert
according to my local hobby shop, but they were unaware of any local clubs ...
X-Prize Cup: TRA gets it, NAR doesn't17 Jul 2005 00:33 GMT15
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8513308/
"The Tripoli Rocketry Association plans to send up three rockets to
altitudes of 20,000 to 30,000 feet"
Seems the TRA  knows how to market itself, while the NAR can't quite seem to
Design of a fan controller16 Jul 2005 16:23 GMT7
I am new to this group. I am pursuing my masters in electrical
engineering. I have opted a control systems course in which I am facing
difficulties. I am doing a small project to design a fan controller
like a cooling system present in the cars. I am not good at designing
