| Nostalgia Time: Looking for info about launch pad | 23 Jan 2006 20:12 GMT | 13 |
While searching the Internet for something totally unrelated to model rockets I happen to stumble onto this site. Reading through some of the posts brought back numerous memories when I flew model rockets probably 30 years ago. At the time, I seem to recall having a launch pad that

| Enough Already!!! | 22 Jan 2006 14:32 GMT | 64 |
There are a handful of threads that have been running here since before Christmas, started by flamers that don't give a @%^#* about these newsgroups. You know the ones, with upper case words in the title, or attacking one person.

| NASA launch | 20 Jan 2006 20:15 GMT | 14 |
I happened to turn on the Dashboard widget and watch NASA tv at 9:30 EST and caught the 10 count of the Deep space project rocket. After it got past mach and leveled out the screen went black. I trust all is well, it's just a pity there wasn't more lead time for school's etc to ...

| vacumm bagging, another approach? | 20 Jan 2006 18:39 GMT | 32 |
someone tell me if my theory is wrong, but with vac bagging you only get a total of 14psi force onthe parts you are attempting to bag. whay not sink it into a pool with tons of water? rather than suck the air out, you squeeze it out.

| multi camera setup for rocket launches | 20 Jan 2006 06:18 GMT | 7 |
sigh, this will take a bit to explain I am getting tired of being stuck behind a camcorder on launch day, and have thought about ways to solve that..... In model rocketry, you only get one take for the first (and maybe last/only)

| BMS products in stores! | 19 Jan 2006 02:33 GMT | 3 |
Maybe everyone already knows this, but it was a pleasant surprise to me to walk into a hobby shop and see a rotating rack of BMS nose cones and body tubes. In my case it was Galaxy Hobbies in Lynnwood, WA, and very fortuitous as I had been contemplating ordering from BMS.

Any NE Ohio posters (or lurkers) hear whatup with Great Lakes Hobbies? Their website has essentially said the same thing for the past several months (that they're moving), and a fellow club member stopped by their "new place" today, and it's still empty. Phone has not been

| Model rockets and teaching physics: Any suggestions? | 18 Jan 2006 20:06 GMT | 2 |
I'm thinking about incoporating model rockets into a high school physics course that I teach. However, I don't want it just to look nice, I want the students to be able to make some kind of connection between the rocket flights and quantitative physics. In theory, I could tie ...
