What are the reaction products of flash powder made from ammonium nitrate and sucrose? Is the unbalanced equation C6H12O6+(NH4)2NO3->CO2+H2O+NO2? The NO2 is the component I'm uncertain about. Since the oxidation is being done by ammonium nitrate, maybe I'm also wrong about ...

Might as well start a thread that actually pertains to rocketry :) I'm curious on what others are using for airbrush rocket painting; acrylic, lacquer, enamel etc. Also would like to hear of airbrush/compressor choice.

Before I can upgrade to a rechargeable gel cell or a car battery, I'm stuck with alkaline. According to a data sheet I have, alkaline D cells have a capacity of 20.5 Ah, whereas alkaline lantern batteries have a capacity of 18.0 Ah.
