So, I was watching the tube the other day when none other than Kevin
Trojanowski pops on along with a who bunch of rocket guys all launching
their projects into the Kansas sun. Excellent program, only a few errors of
fact from the commentator. The rocket build off portion was ...

Has anyone got any experience with using Testors ModelMasters (silver)
on top of Krylon Enamel (red)?
Other color experiences welcome, I guess my general question is Testors
on Krylon...

Estes Gemini DC longevity21 Apr 2006 19:01 GMT3
I was just wondering over the logevity of the Gemini DC kit.
Seems like it has been in the Estes lineup at least 10 years now.
Why so?
Have they really been selling so many, or did they just produce way
The Moon is a Fake21 Apr 2006 05:43 GMT43
According to the best researches of someone whose name I forget
(probably my grandfather), the statement "Man DID NEVER Walk on the
Moon..." is indubitably true -- because the Moon never existed.
Delving into the archives of New Scientist, we find a 1971 report on
Tracking GPS receivers with no TX20 Apr 2006 22:45 GMT12
Last night's Miami CSI showed the coast guard showing the CSI team the GPS radar scope. It had tons of every one with a GPS receiver showing up as green blips and where they were, then they homed in on the stolen gold with the GPS transmitter on it, it had a red blimp.
Tonight on ...
Discover card in space!20 Apr 2006 17:56 GMT13
My wife just told me to look at the discovercard.com web site and order a
replacement card. They now offer over a hundred different designs instead of
the dull gray that I've had for years. One of them, on the first page of
choices, is a shuttle launch. My new one is on its way.
Launch Pad Kits clearance @ Hobbay.com20 Apr 2006 01:22 GMT5
I am clearing out our remaining stock of Launch Pad kits. We have them
listed on a new auction site: www.hobbay.com. Bids start at 1.00 and
there is no reserve. Also, there is basically no traffic on the auction
site since it is brand new, so you should be able to pick one up pretty
Stupid People Blow UP                     ( extreme Video Footage )19 Apr 2006 23:51 GMT27
Those people are insane. They find something what looks like a BOMBin a
bag, gather around and look down to investigate instead of waiting for
some Experts like the Bomb Squad and keep distance, no they do not with
brutal consequences. Viewers Discretion Is strongly Advised.
Motor retention with boattail19 Apr 2006 21:55 GMT7
All, I am planning to Cert level 1 soon.  I am considering the Public Enemy
3" Bullpup for the flight.  My main concern is motor retention. Due to the
boattail, I'm not sure what the best method is, because of the limited
space.  If anyone has built (or is familiar with) this ...

tech question18 Apr 2006 14:27 GMT12
we are investing in hybrids and wondering how hard it would be to convert
existing rockets to use them.
my main issue is rigging up  an altimeter bay to handle ejection charges. I
was thinking of some way of doing it without adding tube lengths, like maybe
Beveling thin G10 fins18 Apr 2006 00:40 GMT2
I'm building a Blackhawk R&D Saab RB-05A kit with 3/32" G10 fins.  Is a
perfect bevel going to give me a huge aerodynamic boost on fins this thin,
or is merely rounding off the rough edges sufficient?
I know that PML expressly states that beveling is unnecessary on their kits
