I have rejoined the business of custom parachute building for the
rocketry community. I now work in partnership with Jeffrey Miller and

What phones with cameras, GPS, etc being common, and with many also
being able to run downloaded java apps, has anyone looked at writing
code to turn the phones into combination flight computers and
telemetry/video payloads?

Folks - there was only 1 reply about RMR Descon 16 previously and no
activity.  That combined with the "real" life and everything else I
have happening, I'm cancelling Descon 16 and will not be running future
ones.

Escape velocity 11 km/s. But certainly rocket does not blast off with
this speed. On tv, i see rocket slowly lifting upward. How much
distance it covers in initial 4-5 seconds?
And is it possible to blast off rocket with acceleration much slower

After what, 55 years at the same location, T&A Hobby Lobby is shutting its
doors for good. Tony, the owner is retiring. I don't have al the details but
for those of you who never visited this place, you dang sure missed one. One
look at the ceiling and all of the CL and RC models ...

I'm not sure I remember -- which clear coat is the one that eats
decals?  I'm thinking between the Krylon Clear Coat (which I think is
the decal eating one), and Testors Glossy Cote / Dull Cote sprays (which
I seem to remember is OK).
