| motors for low-altitude multi-staging | 08 Oct 2006 13:53 GMT | 12 |
After many years out of model rocketry, I'd like to jump back in with a 2-stage model, probably the Semroc Firefly. I never tried staging before, so this would be a nice variety. (Of course, I'd fly the upper stage alone, first.)

| How Long To Keep A Motor Assembled? | 05 Oct 2006 18:00 GMT | 2 |
I built some 38mm reloads to use winter of 2004, but never got to fly. The motors have been assembled ever since. I plan to fly soon, so will these motors now be hard to ignite? Should I disassemble them, scrape the propellant cores, and reassemble? Or just leave them as is? ...

| acceptable velocity for chute deployment. | 03 Oct 2006 19:57 GMT | 26 |
I'm wondering, as a general rule, what are acceptable of velocities at which to deploy the parachute. The type of chute I am describing is a nylon chute of decent quality, 50 inches in diameter and fastened to an eyebolt on the centering ring. The rocket is about 4 pounds.
