The Best Columbia re-entry footage ever!18 Dec 2006 02:22 GMT2
I don't say this with glee, but instead SHAME.  I used to work for NASA
but never ever again will I work for an institution so f.cking full of
itself and so hell bent on losing lives and hardware.  Some of tales I
could tell you about cutting corners, flying damaged or non-working

Flying to Canada to launch.16 Dec 2006 04:55 GMT30
I want to get into high power. I would have done this years ago but,
the 62.5g limit turned me away. I have been watching hybrids and now it
looks like the time to leap. However, knowing that it is the time to
leap means that the ATF will now try to shut that down as well.
Static testing a hybrid motor15 Dec 2006 23:35 GMT17
I would like to build a test stand for some hybrid motors.  One question, do
hybrids need to be vertical or at some inclined angle to work properly?  If
I test then horizontal does that affect the performance?
Thanks,
X-1515 Dec 2006 14:27 GMT6
After watching a documentary, my 12 year old son has taken a real interest
in the X-15.  I'm looking to put together a low power X-15 with him over the
christmas vacation.  Both Estes and Quest appear to do a kit version. Which
of the two is the most realistic in appearance?  Thanks ...

NASA's Getting Wise...13 Dec 2006 04:47 GMT22

NOT ONLY DID NASA delay the launch when they realized that the
Moon was most unfavorable, they chose the narrow window between

12v 7.2mah lead cell battery13 Dec 2006 04:24 GMT27
I have acquired several old UPS batteries rated at 12v 7.2ah.  I broke
out the multimeter and they tested out a-ok.  Obviously my first
thoughts are using them for my launch system.  My second thought was,
how to charge them.

Contrail Sparky motors10 Dec 2006 18:34 GMT25
Any one out there used a Contrail motor in sparky version (38mm H340 or
I290)  I am thinking of building a new rocket for their H and I motors.  Any
recommendation of a good kit for them with dual deployment?
Thanks,
